Job Summary
Product Design Engineer II at Stäubli Electrical Connectors responsible for researching, designing, and implementing Modified to Order (MtO) and Engineered to Order (EtO) products, including cable harness systems and custom designs. Duties include gathering technical data with sales support, cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Assembly, Quality and vendors, reading international/national standards for compliance, performing GD&T/DFM-DFA/DFMEA analyses, supporting internal test labs and developing test protocols, and training personnel on products. Requires 5+ years of experience, a BS in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Industrial Engineering, ITAR U.S. Person status, travel ~10%, and proficiency with CAD/PLM tools (Autodesk Inventor, SmarTeam), ERP systems (SAP Hana), and knowledge of manufacturing processes and standards. The role is office-based with potential light production-floor access and PPE as needed, located in Windsor, US; salary range $105,000–$135,000 USD.
Required Qualifications
- BS Mechanical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering
- 5+ years of practical experience as Product Design Engineer
- Proficient with CAD and PLM software (Autodesk Inventor and SmarTeam preferred)
- Experience with ERP Systems (SAP Hana preferred)
- Familiar with International Standards (UL, IEC, VDE, DIN, ASTM, TüV, IPC/WHMA, ANSI)
- Be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR § 120.15)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Windows11 and Microsoft Office365; PowerBI, PowerAutomate, VBA preferred
