Product Design Engineer *On Site*

Job Summary
Designs and develops new models, mechanisms, devices, machinery, or adaptations for particular products under the direction of the Engineering Manager. Responsible for correct proportions, consideration of stress, speed, motion, weight, operational details, customer specifications, and the incorporation of usable parts that may be in production. Creates designs with appropriate dimensions, tolerances, fasteners, and joining requirements and collaborates to complete the design documentation package including BOMs and routings. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or 5+ years of related experience, proficiency with SolidWorks (PDM beneficial), and capability to perform stress and vibration analyses; preferred experience includes pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Training and safety guidelines will be provided as part of the onboarding process. The work environment is an office setting with on-site equipment testing in a typical manufacturing setting. The position is located in Albert Lea, MN, United States and may involve on-site responsibilities consistent with an engineering design role. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or 5+ years of related field experience
- Technical knowledge for stress and vibration analysis on products
- Proficiency with SolidWorks for product design (PDM beneficial)
- Experience in structural and equipment design
- Ability to manage time to complete projects on time
- Preferred experience in pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems design
