Product Design Engineer II or III

Job Summary
Manage product line options and keep drawings and attributes current for the trailer configurator tool. Lead project definition, planning, and approval for medium to large product development initiatives while overseeing multiple projects. Support production lines by coordinating prototype builds and establishing manufacturing processes to prevent defects. Conduct structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis to ensure integrity and compliance. Generate materials lists for estimating and provide technical information to sales and marketing. Mentor team members in complex engineering systems and lead cross-functional efforts to solve design and production challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Intermediate to Advanced capability in structural mechanics
- Ability to apply Finite Element Analysis and strength of materials at the component and system level
- Intermediate to Advanced in 3D modeling using Solidworks
- Basic skills in finite element analysis (FEA) and structural analysis
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, CAD software (Solidworks), FEA software (Solidworks), project tracking software
- Project planning techniques
- Experience designing welded, bolted, riveted, and bonded fabricated assemblies
- Knowledge of material science for steel, aluminum, composites

- 3 to 5 years' experience in leading medium size cross functional projects (6 month+ duration)
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Trailer Design, and/or Dry Van Product Design experience a plus
- 7+ years of experience in a similar field a plus
- Six Sigma (DMAIC, DFSS, Lean) – Preferred
- GD+T - Preferred
- High level of communication – Multilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Demonstrated ability to Innovate and create
