Product Design Engineer

Job Summary
Support the engineering development of new products, processes, and procedures that contribute to high-quality products for customers. Assist with product design activities, support technical ownership tasks, and read and interpret technical drawings with guidance from senior engineers. Apply foundational knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality concepts to make design trade-off decisions impacting cost, quality, and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders while utilizing SolidWorks or similar CAD software for solid modeling. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Required Qualifications
- Entry-level to early-career experience in product development engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality concepts
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation with guidance
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer or related field from an accredited university
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience in solid modeling using a 3D CAD program
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with other departments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to the furniture industry or similar manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks
- Foundational understanding of engineering trade-off decisions

- Experience working in the furniture industry
