Job Summary
Product Cybersecurity Engineer at Agilent Technologies – Harwell, UK, focusing on leading cybersecurity activities across spectroscopy and vacuum product lines. Responsibilities include interpreting global regulations (GDPR, EU CRA), ensuring product lifecycle cybersecurity, supporting sales/tender cybersecurity content, secure development with SSDLC, DevSecOps adoption (SAST/DAST/SCA, SBOM), embedded system security (Windows IoT, patching, cryptography, MDM), vulnerability management, threat modelling, and cross-functional collaboration across R&D, product security, IT, sales, and marketing. The role combines hands-on security testing, remediation planning, regulatory alignment for target markets (defence, aviation, pharmaceuticals, customs), and ongoing security improvements to ensure products remain secure throughout their lifecycle. Hybrid on-site/campus work at Harwell with some remote work options; permanent contract with competitive compensation and benefits in an international company.
Required Qualifications
- Essential: Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent
- Proven experience in product cybersecurity or application security – typically 4+ years
- Strong understanding of SSDLC, vulnerability management and remediation
- Regulatory compliance knowledge (GDPR, EU CRA, emerging EU/global regulations)
- Hands-on security testing (SAST, DAST, SCA)
- Penetration testing or vulnerability analysis
- Threat modelling
- Windows OS security (embedded/IoT variants)
- Cross-functional engineering collaboration
- Desirable: Cybersecurity certifications (e.g. CISSP, CompTIA PenTest, ISC2 CSSLP)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
- Nessus or similar scanning tools
- SBOM
- Embedded Linux security knowledge
- Experience with regulated industries (defence, aviation, pharma, border security)
- Exposure to AI-assisted tools to enhance secure development
