Job Summary
Gather, analyze, and communicate product supply information to manage working capital and on-time shipment. Work to achieve optimum value by effectively utilizing truck and rail car capacity and rates. Respond quickly to supply and demand shifts via market allocation processes. Use problem-solving skills to suggest changes to individual orders when production does not meet order file. Liaise with sales and agents closely on customer requirements. Monitor customer credit, shipping cut-offs, and work on container load plans. This role supports Tolko's corporate services groups in Vernon, British Columbia, focusing on maximizing resources and building strong relationships within the forestry and wood products industry.
Required Qualifications
- Some post-secondary education in business, forestry, manufacturing or equivalent experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience providing positive customer experience, with proven relationship and conflict management skills
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to provide multiple solutions to a given challenge
- High level of ability in Outlook (email management) and Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Working knowledge of up and down stream supply chain structure
- Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data
