Job Summary
Product Control Manager for a Retail Energy portfolio leading margin reporting, valuation oversight, and financial controls across a retail power portfolio. Owns product control, reconciliations, and reporting; partners with Commercial, Risk, Accounting, Settlements, and FP&A to ensure accurate and timely results. Develops and enhances controls, data quality initiatives, and close processes; prepares analyses for senior leadership highlighting performance drivers, exposures, trends, and risks. Requires a Bachelor's in a quantitative field and 10+ years in product control/energy finance, with direct experience in RECs/environmental products, capacity markets, and commodity valuation concepts. Proficiency with ETRM and advanced Excel; strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Natural gas market exposure is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related quantitative discipline
- 10+ years of experience in Product Control, Energy Accounting, Commercial Finance, Risk, or related function within the energy industry
- Strong experience supporting power portfolios and retail energy operations
- Direct experience with Renewable Energy Credits (RECs), environmental products, capacity markets, or resource adequacy programs
- Deep understanding of commodity valuation concepts, margin reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls
- Experience working closely with trading, commercial, risk, and accounting teams
- Proven ability to build and improve control frameworks, reporting processes, and operational workflows
- Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to influence across multiple functions
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with ETRM platforms and advanced Excel skills
- Natural gas market exposure is a plus
