Product Compliance & Certification Manager

Job Summary
Own the regulatory and certification pathway for AEON\'s European market and future global expansion. Map regulatory landscape across product safety, functional safety, connectivity, cybersecurity, and AI regulation; develop roadmap for market access. Build audit-ready Technical Files and manage CE marking, Machinery Directive, RED, EN 18031. Maintain relationships with notified bodies and regulatory authorities. Lead certification program project management, define plans, track schedule, and communicate status to engineering and leadership. Identify external partners and help scale the compliance function. Fluent English; German or another European language a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product certification, regulatory compliance, or functional safety in a hardware-intensive sector
- Proven track record of taking a complex hardware product through a full certification process in the European market
- Strong working knowledge of CE marking, Machinery Directive, and at least one of: RED, IEC 62061 / ISO 13849, EU AI Act high-risk requirements, or EMC/EMV
- Hands-on experience with hazard analysis and risk assessment methodologies — FMEA, HAZOP, or similar
- Experience structuring and producing Technical Files to a standard that survives external audit
- Strong project management discipline with the ability to define plans, track rigorously, and escalate early
- Clear communicator across both technical and non-technical audiences
- Fluent English required; German or another European language is a meaningful plus
