Job Summary
Lead product and business development for pharmaceutical primary packaging in PPP NA (Gx Berlin, Ohio). Identify and pursue new business opportunities, lead new product development from concept through industrialization and launch, and build strategic relationships with pharmaceutical customers, CMOs, and industry partners. Translate customer and market requirements into compliant technical solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance, commercial viability, and lifecycle optimization of products. Develop and present commercial proposals, quotations, and tailored packaging solutions. Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Tooling, and Manufacturing teams to ensure feasibility and regulatory compliance. Conduct market analysis, monitor industry trends, and provide insights to drive growth strategies. Track business development performance, manage the sales pipeline, support revenue and KPI targets, and assist with contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and long-term commercial agreements. Cross-functional and strategic responsibilities include coordinating between customers and internal teams, contributing to the product roadmap, participating in customer audits and regulatory inspections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, cost, sustainability, and manufacturability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Polymer Science, Packaging Technology, Chemistry, or related field, or 5–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical plastic packaging
- MBA or commercial qualification is an advantage
- Proven experience in product development and business development roles
- Strong understanding of pharma regulatory and quality requirements
- Experience working with pharma customers, CMOs, or regulated markets
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials, injection/blow molding, and tooling
- Excellent commercial and negotiation skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts into customer-friendly solutions
- Project management and cross-functional coordination skills
- Customer-centric mindset with strategic thinking ability
