Job Summary
Define and maintain the product roadmap aligned with company objectives, customer requirements, and market opportunities. Translate operational needs into actionable engineering requirements and prioritize features to optimize technical and business outcomes. Oversee engineering design, validation, and production readiness across all product lines, guiding teams on system architecture and test plans. Direct the full product lifecycle from concept through sustainment, managing configuration control and driving continuous improvement based on field performance and reliability metrics. Ensure all designs comply with ISO 9001:2015, environmental, and DoD standards while contributing to projects as an individual contributor as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in product development, engineering management, or technical program leadership
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in product design, testing, and production environments
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to communicate complex concepts across diverse audiences
- Experience in product lifecycle management, manufacturing coordination, and field support
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Full-time, onsite (Sacramento, CA) or hybrid depending on project needs
- Some travel may be required for customer site visits, testing, or training activities
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and DoD or government contract requirements
- Experience with sensor systems, weather or environmental instruments, or aerospace/defense technology
- Working knowledge of requirements management, configuration control, and engineering documentation systems
- Strong customer focus with the ability to balance technical performance and business priorities
- Understanding of systems integration, verification, and validation processes
- Government clearance or ability to get clearance
