Job Summary
Lead local and breaking news coverage by determining top stories, collaborating with colleagues to decide airtime, and transforming pitches into engaging newscasts. Drive coverage across TV, the Spectrum News app, and connected television to inform viewers on essential community and national issues. Develop deep understanding of local events while leveraging storytelling abilities to create content that attracts and holds audience attention. Work in a fast-paced, semi-noisy newsroom environment requiring flexibility for different shifts and occasional field duties.
Required Qualifications
- Television news - 2+ years
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
- Knowledge of social media platforms
- Basic editing skills (Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro)
- Go-getter personality
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
- Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of general office computer software

- Basic non-linear editing systems
