Job Summary
Producer, News responsible for producing daily newscast items, deciding story order, writing teases and content, timing broadcasts, video editing, and posting video to websites. Produces newscasts for multiple platforms; writes and orders news stories; approves scripts; balances news and feature content for compelling broadcasts; edits video; writes stories for the website and eMedia platforms; engages with viewers on social media. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field (or equivalent experience), English fluency, strong communication skills, and at least two years in news operations. Must work to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple tasks with flexibility for shifts. Salary $15-$16/hour, commensurate with experience; comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid leave, and other benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum two years’ experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
