Job Summary
Produce newscasts for broadcast across all platforms by writing and ordering news stories, approving scripts, and balancing news and feature content. Edit video, write stories for the website and other eMedia platforms, and interact with viewers on social media sites. Craft superior newscasts using the "Local 4 You" brand with solid writing, sound, video, and graphic elements while making quick adjustments for breaking news, weather, or traffic. Own the newscast and go above and beyond to achieve the best possible result. Flexible with schedule and newscast; work as a team player to stack the show.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum two years' experience in news operations
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
