Job Summary
Produce Lead to oversee producer outreach and act as primary contact for Technical Assistance Providers across a multi-state wool-farming initiative. Lead an implementation team, coordinate logistics, develop outreach strategies, supervise Technical Assistance Providers, and drive outreach, education, market improvement, and technical assistance delivery for wool producers in CO, ID, MT, SD, UT, and WY. Remote work option with base in one of the eligible states; includes development of promotional materials (press releases, blog posts, podcasts), and travel as needed to support program activities. Wants a BA/BS in a related field, five years of farming or equivalent leadership experience, and strong project management, grant management, stakeholder engagement, and NRCS-related knowledge. Relocation not provided; salary $68,000–$73,000 annually plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in agriculture, environmental science, natural resource management, conservation, or a related field
- minimum of five years of farming experience
- equivalent experience in farming projects or leadership in agricultural projects
- Supervisory experience
- Experience in contracting, grant management, and compliance
- Strong knowledge of farming and/or ranching systems, ideally in conservation or sustainability
- Ability to work with diverse producer communities
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to create processes and track progress of multiple projects across states
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
- Familiarity with NRCS programs or other agricultural assistance programs
