Job Summary
Produce the morning radio program Daybreak Kamloops and assign stories to journalists. Pitch, research, gather, and produce original story ideas for audio, video, and social media programming. Collaborate with coordinating producers and teams to lead live and developing coverage on multiple platforms while responding quickly to breaking news events. Vet others' work to ensure accuracy, fairness, and balance in adherence to CBC Journalistic Standards and Practices. Cultivate relationships with community members and contacts, and develop background, introduction, and line of questioning for hosts. Assign and create content for digital platforms, participate in production evaluations, and perform administrative duties to support station operations.
Required Qualifications
- English (Reading - P - Professional)

- University degree in journalism
- Minimum of three years of recent, related experience
- Ability to lead complex teams
- Ability to work independently
- Superior problem-solving skills
- Ability to generate, pitch and pursue strong, original stories
- A proven track record of connecting with local communities
- Superior writing skills across platforms
- Experience in gathering, editing and packaging audio and video
- Ability to present stories live on-air
- Ability to assign teams and manage media assets
- Knowledge of emerging storytelling formats
- Willingness to embrace change and new tasks across all CBC platforms
- Familiarity and proven connections with Black, Indigenous and People of Colour communities
- Familiarity and proven connections with people living with a disability
- Familiarity and proven connections with other underrepresented communities in British Columbia and across Canada
