Job Summary
Produce daily lifestyle content for CBC Life across web, social and video platforms. Conceive, develop and pitch original lifestyle story ideas aligned with CBC Life’s priorities; field and evaluate external pitches from freelance contributors; assign, develop and edit stories; write and produce original content; collaborate with social, video, writers, designers and editors on editorial initiatives; publish and package stories with SEO, metadata, and promotional copy; coordinate editorial priorities and publishing schedules; supervise contributors and ensure proper clearance of material.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience and strong editorial knowledge in lifestyle content areas
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant editorial and digital publishing experience
- Experience assigning, editing and collaborating with freelance writers, creators and contributors
- Experience producing digital-first journalism and content designed for online audiences
- Experience writing and editing high-quality editorial content under deadline
- Experience participating in or producing digital video and/or social content
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, think strategically and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment
- University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
