Job Summary

Supervise the operation of the Produce department, overseeing product preparation, display, inventory control, and material distribution to increase sales and efficiency. Manage team members by ensuring excellent customer service, addressing issues early, and handling all customer suggestions and complaints. Conduct monthly physical inventory counts, track product sales via company systems, and make reasonable product orders while checking quality and quantity upon receiving deliveries. Distribute and rotate stock using FIFO methods, manage cutting, trimming, and packing of products, and supervise attractive product displays with proper signage and promotional materials. Monitor store assets, report accidents and violations, and maintain safe, sanitary working environments by complying with federal, state, and local regulations. Regularly maintain equipment, monitor temperatures, and manage expiration dates to prevent waste. Plan promotion events, set prices, and arrange demos to maximize sales. Work assigned schedules including weekends and holidays, and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year of clerical experience in the produce department or equivalent
  • Currently possess or have the ability to possess a Food Handler's certificate
  • Knowledge of food production process, product lines, and labeling
  • Knowledge of safety rules and regulations established by the company and government
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, leadership, and time management skills
  • Strong active listening, execution, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to constant and challenging deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members with professional maturity
  • Ability to inspect and evaluate the quality of products
  • Proficient with computer programs and software to enter data and process information
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Ability to use manual dexterity to grasp, manipulate, and assemble objects
  • Ability to work in an environment that may be wet and dry and with varying temperatures and noises
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times or more with appropriate equipment
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to work assigned schedules, including weekend, and holidays as needed
