Job Summary
Maintain product levels and quality control in produce and floral departments by ensuring fresh fruits and vegetables are displayed per company standards and regulatory food safety practices. Operate pallet jacks to unload trucks and reload return items, while inspecting product for quality, rotating dated stock, and discarding unsold goods. Cut and trim product for presentation, collect trash into bailers, and clean, assemble, and prepare equipment under supervision. Assist customers with price checks and product inquiries, promote sales through suggestive selling, and uphold a sanitary environment by adhering to safety procedures. Requires Food Handler certification, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Food Handler certification
- Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jack
- Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment
- Ability to handle objects carefully to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property
- Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes using a variety of educational resources
- Must be able to attend work
