Job Summary
Maintain full stock conditions on produce and floral display racks, tables, and shelves while ensuring fresh fruits and vegetables are displayed per Company standards and regulatory food safety practices. Operate pallet jacks to unload product from trucks and reload return items, inspecting goods for quality and rotating dated stock appropriately. Assist customers by answering price check questions, exchanging products, and responding to complaints while promoting sales through suggestive selling initiatives. Collect trash, clean the work environment, and adhere to all safety procedures when handling sharp tools or equipment. Requires Food Handler certification, minimum age of 18, and ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Food Handler certification
- Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jack
- Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment
- Ability to handle objects carefully to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property
- Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Ability to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus
- Ability to stand or walk
- Ability to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Ability to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Ability to bend, kneel or squat
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop or crawl
- Attendance at work is required
