Job Summary
Maintain product levels and quality control in produce and floral departments by stocking display racks, tables, and shelves while ensuring fresh fruits and vegetables meet company standards and regulatory food safety practices. Operate pallet jacks to unload trucks and reload return items, inspect products for quality, and rotate or discard dated stock. Assist customers with price checks, locate products, and address complaints while promoting sales through suggestive selling initiatives. Clean, assemble, and prepare equipment; handle objects up to 40 lbs frequently and 75 lbs occasionally. Adhere to safety procedures, including using sharp tools and reporting hazards, while maintaining a sanitary environment. Requires Food Handler certification, flexible scheduling including nights and weekends, and on-the-job training.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Food Handler certification
- Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jack
- Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment
- Ability to handle objects carefully to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property
- Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes using a variety of educational resources
- Close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus
- Ability to stand or walk
- Ability to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Ability to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Ability to bend, kneel or squat
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop or crawl
