Job Summary
Maintain product levels and quality control in the produce department by ensuring fresh fruits and vegetables are displayed per company standards and regulatory food safety practices. Keep full stock conditions on display racks, tables, and shelves while operating pallet jacks to unload product and reload trucks with return items. Inspect dated product for rotation or proper disposal, and ensure all equipment is cleaned, assembled, and functioning under supervision. Assist customers by answering price check questions, exchanging products, and responding to complaints while promoting sales through suggestive selling initiatives. Adhere to strict sanitary standards when handling raw food, using sharp tools for trimming, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Must be 18+ years of age to operate equipment; 21+ required to drive company vehicles. Food Handler certification required. Flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age required
- Must be 18 years of age to operate and clean motorized equipment
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business
- Food Handler certification required
- Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jack
- Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment under supervision
- Ability to handle objects carefully to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property
- Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus
- Continuously required to stand or walk
- Continuously required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling
- Continuously required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs
- Continuously required to bend, kneel or squat
- Frequently required to talk and hear
- Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 75 lbs
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop or crawl
- Occasionally exposed to outside temperatures and weather
- Attendance at work is required
