Job Summary
Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store by ordering and maintaining inventory, validating received orders, and managing a team through stocking, production, and date-sensitive rotation. Communicate and execute weekly Flight Plans, manage labor control and payroll expenses, and develop department goals and forecasts. Train associates, handle performance management, and ensure strict adherence to food safety and store safety guidelines. Participate in daily huddles, manager meetings, and district-level sessions. Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department while implementing core values and competencies. Requires high school diploma or GED, two years of retail experience, and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Full-time role located at 1814 Breton Rd SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- May bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Exposed to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
