Job Summary
Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store, ensuring associates are trained, the team is fully staffed, and all company goals and key performance indicators are met. Order and maintain inventory while validating received orders for amount, quality, and condition, ensuring proper storage and adherence to date-sensitive rotation. Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and additional tasks, handling spoiled or damaged products per established guidelines. Maintain familiarity with all products, advertised items, and sales rewards programs. Implement work schedules, labor control, and payroll expenses using required tools and software. Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts, while attending daily huddles, manager meetings, and district-level meetings. Ensure all food safety and general safety guidelines are followed throughout the store, taking immediate corrective action when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to tolerate a work environment with low to moderate noise levels
- Ability to travel (requirements vary by assignment)
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations
- Knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
