Job Summary
Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store, ensuring associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, and all company goals and key performance indicators are met. Order and maintain inventory to ensure product freshness and quality, while reviewing and validating received orders for amount, condition, and weight. Manage a team responsible for stocking, production, and date-sensitive rotation, handling spoiled or damaged products per established guidelines. Implement work schedules, labor control, and payroll expenses, and develop and monitor department goals and forecasts. Participate in daily huddles, manager meetings, and district-level meetings to execute the weekly Flight Plan and communicate company expectations. Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department while assuring all food safety and general safety guidelines are followed with immediate corrective action when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- May bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Exposed to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations
- Knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
