Job Summary
Lead daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, and all company goals and key performance indicators are met. Order and maintain inventory while validating received orders for amount, quality, and condition, then store products appropriately. Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and additional tasks, ensuring product quality, date-sensitive rotation, and proper handling of spoiled items. Implement work schedules, labor control, and payroll expenses while communicating weekly and period Flight Plans. Maintain familiarity with all products and advertised items, attend daily huddles and meetings, and ensure food and safety guidelines are followed with immediate corrective action when needed. Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts to meet company standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- May bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Exposed to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
