Produce Manager

Produce Manager responsible for assisting the store manager in planning, directing and controlling the operation of the produce department, supervising employees, controlling production, inventory, quality, freshness, merchandising, losses, gross profit, net profit and hours of work. Includes staffing decisions (hiring/firing/promotions/disciplinary actions), supervision of product ordering, supporting sales plans, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing and enforcing department policies. Role requires developing and enforcing procedures, strong leadership, good interpersonal skills, willingness to travel to and from work, and ability to read, write and perform basic arithmetic. Also responsible for training and supervising staff, conducting meetings to communicate results, and coordinating with vendors and other stakeholders; duties include writing schedules and reports and directing employees verbally and in writing.
