Job Summary
Produce Manager position overseeing the produce department under the store manager. Responsible for planning, directing and controlling department operations, supervising employees, managing ordering and product availability, supporting sales plans, and maximizing department sales while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Duties include hiring, firing, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary actions for department staff; develop and enforce department policies, oversee scheduling and reporting; maintain inventory, quality, freshness, merchandising, and loss prevention; coordinate with vendors and provide direction to employees. Requires strong leadership, interpersonal skills, ability to read/write arithmetic, and willingness to be on 24-hour call with travel to and from work. Prior retail grocery supervisory experience and ability to train, recruit, and supervise staff are expected.
