Job Summary
The Produce Manager directs and manages all functions and activities of the Produce Department to achieve sales and profit goals. Responsibilities include working on localized merchandising plans, ordering merchandise, controlling inventory, training and supervising personnel, maintaining department expenses, and ensuring compliance with sanitation, safety, and health regulations. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to analyze profitability reports, and physical capabilities to handle merchandise. Candidates must have a minimum high school education and at least two years of experience as a produce clerk.
Required Qualifications
- High school education a minimum requirement
- At least two years experience as a produce clerk
- Above average analytical skills necessary to study and interpret various reports
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise and maintain inventory
- Dexterity in hands to enable trimming and packaging of produce
- Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds up to fifty percent (50%) of the time
- Must be able to stand upright for the majority of your scheduled work shift
