Job Summary
The Produce Manager is responsible for directing and managing all functions and activities of the Produce Department to achieve sales and profit goals. Responsibilities include following localized merchandising plans, controlling inventory, training and supervising personnel, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety programs, and maintaining a clean and attractive department image. Candidates must possess analytical skills and excellent communication abilities, with a minimum of two years’ experience as a produce clerk.
Required Qualifications
- High school education is a minimum requirement
- At least two years’ experience as a produce clerk
- Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, order and maintain inventory
- Above average analytical skills to study and interpret reports
- Excellent oral and written communications skills for dealing with customers, employees and vendors
- Dexterity in hands for trimming and packaging of produce
- Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds up to fifty percent (50%) of the time
- Must be able to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift
