Job Summary
Direct and manage all functions of the Produce Department to achieve sales and profit goals. Responsibilities include following merchandising plans, managing inventory, ensuring product quality and rotation, training staff, maintaining safety and sanitation compliance, and fostering a positive customer experience. Requires analytical skills for budget management and effective communication with customers and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- High school education is a minimum requirement
- At least two years’ experience as a produce clerk
- Above average analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and write for tagging merchandise and maintaining inventory
- Dexterity in hands for trimming and packaging
- Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to stand upright for most of the scheduled work shift
