Job Summary
Establish department objectives to maximize curb appeal, sales, and sustainable growth while coordinating budgets and analyzing performance data to hit aggressive goals. Lead recruitment, training, and daily supervision of staff, setting unit policies, conducting performance reviews, and mentoring the team in guest service. Maintain strong vendor relationships to improve product range, oversee pricing and promotional strategies, and ensure operational integrity by adhering to company policies and safety standards. Uphold the highest standards for freshness and rotation to ensure only the best products reach guests. This full-time role at Piggly Wiggly requires the ability to lift 50 lbs and safely operate hazardous equipment like slicers and knives, with a focus on commercial mindset and leadership mastery within the produce department.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Must be able to safely operate hazardous equipment (slicers, heated wrapping stations, knives, etc.) with delicacy and precision
- Previous management experience in a produce department or high-volume retail setting
