Job Summary
Oversee the operation of the Produce department, managing product preparation, display, inventory control, and material distribution to increase sales and efficiency. Drive department sales to meet targets while controlling labor, stock loss, and costs through data analysis and financial projection management. Supervise and delegate tasks to employees, providing constructive feedback, conducting training on equipment and product handling, and recommending disciplinary actions or promotions. Execute daily operations including product ordering, receiving, stocking with FIFO methods, cutting, trimming, and labeling products. Manage cash handling, product returns, and expired or recalled items while ensuring compliance with safety codes, health regulations, and company policies. Maintain equipment, monitor temperatures, and coordinate maintenance logs. Assist with Omni channel services, weekly marking plans, and promotional events. Participate in the Management in Training program to prepare for promotion to Produce Department Manager within 3-5 months based on performance.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of supervisory experience in the produce department or equivalent
- Ability to work assigned schedules, including weekend, and holidays as needed
- Currently possess or have the ability to possess a Food Handler's certificate
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Ability to use manual dexterity to grasp, manipulate, and assemble objects
- Ability to work in an environment that may be wet and dry and with varying temperatures and noises
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds at times or more with appropriate equipment
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
