Job Summary
Provide customer service in the Produce Department and assist in creating a well-stocked, clean, and appealing department. Maintain inventory, merchandising, signage, and proper food handling; follow health regulations and FDA guidelines; assist with special orders and returns; lead and coach team members; coordinate with other store staff to ensure product availability and quality; ensure displays are attractive and compliant with department policies; utilize product knowledge to help customers and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow Department of Health regulations and needs to complete Food Handler’s Certificate within 10 days of employment
- Demonstrated ability in managing Produce Department operations (margins, ordering, inventory control, merchandising, personnel management)
- Must have intermediate math skills, and be computer literate with experience in Windows, Outlook Express, Word and Excel
- Strong skills in communication, listening, organization, time management and the ability to provide and coach legendary customer service
- Leadership and team-building skills with the ability to coach, motivate, supervise, delegate, and constructively address performance issues
- Willing to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to travel and/or transfer to other store locations
