Job Summary
Lead department operations in the absence of the manager, ensuring associates are trained, the department is fully staffed, and all company goals and key performance indicators are met. Order and maintain inventory using control procedures to minimize loss and ensure freshness, while reviewing received orders for accuracy, quality, and condition. Manage team stocking, production, and date-sensitive rotation, handling spoiled products per guidelines. Execute weekly Flight Plans, manage scheduling, labor control, and payroll expenses, and support performance management and career development for associates. Maintain product knowledge, communicate ad items and deals, attend daily huddles and meetings, and uphold food safety, cleaning, and guest experience standards. Requires high school graduate, 0-2 years retail experience, strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Located in Byron Center, Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- May be required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- The associate is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- The associate is exposed to outside weather conditions
- Travel requirements vary by assignment
Desired Qualifications
- 0-2 years of retail experience preferred
- Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products preferred
- Depending company location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
