Job Summary
Inspect incoming fresh produce deliveries and existing inventory to ensure quality meets established specifications and PACA laws. Make daily decisions to accept or reject produce, withdraw non-compliant items from stock, and verify Purchase Order quantities for inbound perishable loads. Perform daily inspections of inbound trucks for pests, check temperatures, and document violations to report to warehouse management. Collaborate with warehouse and replenishment leads on dumps, damages, re-work, and daily dump reports while maintaining inspection records. Rotate produce inventory and pull outdated items from pick slots. Work early morning shifts Sunday through Thursday from 4:30 am to 1 pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years experience in produce or other perishable receiving and inspection
- Working knowledge of USDA Specs, Grades and Standards
- Working knowledge of PACA laws
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant applications/hardware
- Completion of US Foods Produce Inspector Course (within 60 days of hire)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
- Team-player – flexible and willing to learn new things and adapt as the business evolves
