Job Summary
As Produce Department Manager, lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver the best fresh shopping experience. Responsibilities include overseeing inventory management, ordering, item maintenance, product quality and rotation, shrink management, merchandising, invoicing, scheduling, and payroll; provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and performance reviews; drive department performance in alignment with store goals; ensure adherence to Safe Food Handling and Health & Safety policies; collaborate with the Store Manager and Retail Specialist to implement strategic initiatives and maintain excellent customer service and operational excellence. Requires post-secondary/business training with at least 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience and relevant certifications (Public Health Food Handler, Smart Serve, First Aid & CPR) or commitment to obtain within six months; English fluency, with French an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary program with emphasis in business or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role
- Completion of Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve, and Level A First Aid & Basic CPR (or commitment to obtain within six months of hire)
- Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset
