Job Summary
Greet customers with a friendly smile, escort shoppers to products, and assist with heavy items or out-of-reach merchandise. Review produce for freshness, rotate stock, and ensure adequate supply is ready on hand. Check inventory, process invoices, and maintain a clean, sanitized work area by removing trash promptly. Order supplies as needed, price products, and deliver orders when required. Adhere to strict hygiene guidelines and company policies while reporting to work on time. This role supports Hy-Vee's commitment to customer service within the produce department.
Required Qualifications
- Less than High School or equivalent experience
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Must be able to physically perform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction
- Depth perception
- Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Field of vision
- Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
- Ability to do simple addition and subtraction; copying figures, counting and recording
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- Ability to write identifying information
- Ability to request supplies orally or in writing
- Must be able to climb
