Job Summary
Engage with guests in-person and via phone by assisting shoppers in finding items, taking orders, and addressing concerns. Maintain stock levels and display standards across the sales floor and cooler, rotating products using the first-in, first-out method. Ensure cleanliness and food safety by keeping areas organized, logging temperatures, and completing daily rotation and shrink recording sheets. Keep supplies such as roll bags and twist ties stocked and order dips, spices, and herbs as needed. Perform other duties to support the team while maintaining regular attendance and providing notice for occasional absences. This part-time role includes up to 28 hours weekly with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Full range of upper body motion
- Must be able to work at a fast pace
- May be exposed to extreme temperatures
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule
- Adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
- Understanding of safety requirements and company safety policies
- Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises
- Ability to utilize the following equipment: trash compactor, baler, slicers, etc
- Knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations
- Ability to engage with guests and provide outstanding service
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
