Job Summary
Purchasing and inventory ownership for a Produce Importer/Distributor: place purchase orders based on forecasts and inventory levels, confirm pricing and shipment details with suppliers, ensure compliance with sourcing agreements, adjust orders as demand and supply change, monitor inventory aging and rotation, align inbound shipments with sales and warehouse capacity, prevent overstock and shrink, coordinate with operations on product handling, maintain supplier communications, track supplier performance, verify invoices, and support cost visibility and cash flow planning alongside the CFO.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of experience in produce purchasing or supply chain
- Strong understanding of perishable inventory management
- Experience with import programs and domestic sourcing
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple SKUs and shipments
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Famous Software experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
