Job Summary
As a Produce Associate, you will maintain and operate the produce department, including trimming and preparation of merchandise according to company standards. Key responsibilities include cutting, slicing, and preparing produce, weighing, packaging, and labeling, and merchandising produce and floral shelves. You must follow food safety guidelines, assist with deliveries, and maintain a clean department. Familiarity with products is essential, along with the ability to practice suggestive selling techniques. The role is physically demanding, requiring standing, walking, and lifting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (GED) preferred
- Must be able to work with fresh fruits, vegetables etc. without negative allergic consequences that adversely affect the ability to perform
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
- Basic mathematical skills
- Detail Oriented
Desired Qualifications
- One year of retail or related experience preferred
