Job Summary
Receive and unload produce deliveries, inspect items for quality, and stock shelves using the First In, First Out method. Monitor inventory levels, perform regular counts, and maintain accurate records while ensuring proper labeling and storage conditions. Greet customers, assist with selections, and provide recommendations on produce preparation and storage. Keep the department clean, organized, and visually appealing by creating attractive displays and maintaining equipment. Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues as needed. Work collaboratively with other associates, assist with training, and support peak operations. Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines. This part-time role requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a produce department or similar retail environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Basic math skills for handling inventory counts and pricing
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of produce varieties, handling, and storage requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
- Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store needs
