Produce- Assistant Manager

Manage the produce department by processing and stocking quality merchandise on shelves and displays while maintaining a clean, neat, and expedient environment. Ensure all product is fresh and appealingly displayed for customers, resolve complaints to full satisfaction, and offer product samples or prepare special orders like fruit bowls and watermelon boats. Oversee inventory, security, and expense control by ordering, receiving, unloading, and storing deliveries; store, price, date, rotate, and stock product using first-in-first-out methods to minimize shrink and damaged goods. Control backroom and storage operations, monitor cooler temperatures, and enforce sanitation procedures to guarantee product quality. Assist the department manager with planning work schedules, administering discipline, conducting meetings, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
