Job Summary
Produce Assistant Department Manager leads and mentors Team Members, conducts regular team meetings, coaches for productivity, and handles issues with customers and team members. Responsibilities include upholding health & safety, food safety, and loss prevention policies, merchandising, inventory management, and scheduling to meet financial objectives, while delivering exceptional service to Team Members, Customers, and Vendors. Requires at least 1 year of experience in a produce department, strong customer service, leadership, and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced store retail environment. Work environment is in-store in Vaughan, Ontario, with availability to work days, evenings, and weekends; travel to support off-site events is required. The role emphasizes leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and the creation of eye-catching displays in a collaborative team setting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a produce department
- Solid understanding of product knowledge
- Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships with Team Members and Customers
- Ability to lead, coach, motivate and work in a fast paced environment
- Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
- Ownership to resolve issues with a sense of urgency
