Job Summary
Procurement Specialist orchestrates purchasing activities, supplier coordination, and material planning to support construction projects and production operations. Responsibilities include processing and managing purchase orders, soliciting and evaluating vendor quotes for competitive pricing and quality, coordinating material needs with Project Managers, tracking orders and back-orders to align with schedules, resolving invoice discrepancies with accounting, maintaining accurate purchasing records in ERP systems, monitoring inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking, assisting with demand planning and forecasting, supporting supplier relationship management and performance tracking, identifying cost savings and process improvements, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and contracts, and proactively mitigating supply chain risks. Requires proven leadership, advanced knowledge of construction processes, proficiency with Procore and related tools, strong negotiation and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure while delivering data-driven decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 3–8+ years purchasing experience in construction, manufacturing, or related industry
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Sage, Procore, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret complex drawings (architectural/engineering) or related documentation
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
