Procurement Specialist I ((Supply Chain Buyer))

Job Summary
Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers while preparing and processing requisitions and purchase orders for goods, services, and supplies. Develop sourcing strategies, evaluate product offerings, and recommend suppliers after gathering business requirements and pre-qualifying potential vendors. Distribute RFPs/RFQs, collect bids, and assess proposals based on quality, cost, or other criteria to identify the best-suited partners. Work with selected suppliers to establish mutually acceptable contractual agreements and oversee tactical purchasing operations, including invoice payments. Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, including FAR/DFARS requirements. This entry-level role supports customer-related business processes and internal use within a global munitions design and production environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree and 0-3 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
