Job Summary
Plan, create, and enter company purchase orders via MRP and warehousing processes while managing vendor relationships and coordinating shipping and receiving activities. Formalize strategic planning and procurement procedures to drive continuous process improvement, researching and vetting ideal vendors to advise on cost-effectiveness and quality alternatives. Negotiate costs to ensure spending aligns with organizational goals and own the inventory process, including stock levels, cycle counts, and ERP pricing accuracy. Maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders regarding inventory procurement and delivery availability. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years in material procurement, and proficiency in Infor ERP LN or SAP.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 2+ years' experience in material procurement/buying or similar position, preferably in an industrial, distribution, or warehouse setting
- Background in Manufacturing or Industrial Supply Chain
- Strong experience in a customer-facing role with providing inquiry assistance (parts research, lead time/expected ship dates, inventory availability, etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel ability (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables)
- Proficient in Infor ERP LN or equivalent SAP ERP/inventory management system
- Experience entering and processing a high volume of purchase orders with a wide variety of parts/products
