Job Summary
Oversee buying, planning, and inventory management to ensure purchased materials align with the master production schedule and lean strategies. Implement operational improvements for the materials department while maintaining key relationships with stakeholders in manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and plant management. Drive process improvement through root cause analysis and provide recommendations to functional groups regarding materials and inventory levels. Manage profit planning, min./max. controls, and lead times to optimize inventory turns and minimize carrying costs. Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Interface with customers to establish relationships and resolve issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, or a related field
- Five plus years of experience in Materials Management
- Five plus years of experience in the manufacturing industry
- Five plus years of experience using an ERP system to efficiently plan and procure material
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve goals through influence at high levels of an organization
- Experience with material expediting and implementing solutions to short-term and long-term supply issues
- Ability to identify employees' strengths and limitations and give both positive and constructive feedback
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with risk awareness and mitigation
- Advanced financial acumen
- Demonstrated past of developing and managing KPIs and metrics
- US work authorization without sponsorship
- Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check
- Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four plus hours at a time
