Job Summary
Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team by managing hiring, coaching, training, and performance accountability. Develop and execute sourcing strategies across indirect categories including software, professional services, hardware, capital expenditures, and R&D to optimize cost, mitigate risk, and ensure supply chain resilience. Manage the end-to-end sourcing process from requirements gathering and competitive bidding through supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and renewals. Partner with Engineering, IT, Finance, Legal, and other stakeholders to define business requirements, forecast spend, and establish clear agreements. Strengthen operations through standardized processes, supplier performance reviews, KPIs, and executive reporting. This newly created role supports Helion's growth as it scales toward building the world's first fusion power plant.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management
- responsibility for one or more indirect categories such as IT, professional services, hardware, capital expenditures, or facilities management
- 3+ years hiring, managing, coaching, and developing procurement or sourcing professionals
- Demonstrated success developing and executing category strategies in a growing or rapidly changing organization
- Experience leading complex, high-value negotiations
- working with agreements such as MSAs, SOWs, amendments, and renewals
- Strong analytical and financial acumen
- experience evaluating pricing models, spend, and total cost of ownership
