Job Summary
The Procurement Manager oversees planning, directing, and coordinating all purchasing and inventory activities within Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Responsibilities include supervising purchasing staff, ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and safety standards, monitoring operations and budgets, managing accounts payable and invoicing, procuring food and non-food supplies from approved purveyors, maintaining tight inventory levels (targeting <10 days inventory variation monthly), and providing cost-effective improvements such as new products and merchandising ideas. The role requires expertise in CBORD purchasing/inventory, HACCP/FIFO storage principles, and strong leadership to coach and develop staff, with a focus on achieving accurate financial reporting and adherence to departmental and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management or related fields
- Five (5) years purchasing experience in a Major Medical Center or Institutional food service operation.
