Job Summary
Coach and mentor a team of dedicated Buyers while providing training on standardized processes and leading the rollout of buying initiatives. Partner with leadership to ensure buying practices meet customer needs and cost targets, assigning resources to balance workload and meet demand. Manage transactional approvals for purchase orders, credit cards, and supplier qualifications, acting as the primary escalation point for part shortages and delivery issues. Build positive relationships with internal and external customers, track supplier performance, and lead improvement plans to drive cost reduction and inventory reduction in support of EBITDA targets. Coordinate with the Planning team to align activities and participate in new tools and process implementations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in operations, Inventory or Purchasing Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5-10 years of planning/buying experience, preferably within the electronics industry
- Proficiency in operating a computer including using a Windows based operating systems and related software
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office including Excel (v-lookups, data filters, pivot tables etc.)
- Excellent English communications skills, both written and verbal
- ERP system experience within a Supply Chain environment including buying and inventory
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated strong leadership experience with excellent people skills
- Certification or enrollment in APICs or PMAC
- Lean Supply Chain experience
- Practical industry experience in a multi-location environment (preferably in a complex manufacturing setting)
- Dedicated and professional attitude, willing to learn in a high change/high pace environment
- Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and thrives on autonomy and the challenges of continuous improvement
